It is a pleasure to be part of the University of Stirling and to contribute to the growth of its Ras Al Khaimah campus.

Over the past two and a half decades in higher education, I have had the opportunity to work with students, educators and industry partners across different countries. These experiences have shaped a simple belief: good education is not only about academics, it is about helping young people discover confidence, direction and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing world.

The RAK campus functions as an extension of the University of Stirling in the UK, and everything we do here is guided by the University’s academic framework, values and standards. Our responsibility locally is to ensure that a student studying in Ras Al Khaimah receives the same seriousness of teaching, support and academic integrity that the University is known for.

Alongside academic learning, we are working to strengthen practical exposure for students through internships, industry interaction and skills development so that they feel prepared when they step into professional life. A degree should open doors, but it should also give students the confidence to walk through those doors.

We are also building closer connections with schools, families and employers in the region, helping students make informed choices and transition smoothly from education to employment. In doing so, we hope to support the UAE’s focus on developing capable and responsible young professionals while also contributing to the international outlook of the University of Stirling.

As a campus team, our intention is simple: to deliver a supportive learning environment, maintain academic quality and create opportunities for our students to grow both personally and professionally.

I look forward to working with our students, faculty and partners as we continue to develop the campus thoughtfully in the years ahead. Students who join Stirling in Ras Al Khaimah are part of a global university community, and our aim is that they leave not only with a recognised degree, but with clarity, confidence and readiness for their future.
