The “Rewind: The Year That Was” event, conducted by SQA RAK Y1 students took place on June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2025. The three-day event featured themes that fostered deep connections and learning. The importance of this event was evident as it brought students and teachers together, creating a palpable sense of bonding and shared learning experiences. The event not only strengthened relationships but also provided a platform for personal growth and reflection.
Day 1: Rooted in Connection: Discovering Ourselves, Together
Day 1 of the event, themed “Rooted in Connection: Discovering Ourselves, Together,” featured activities like The Color Personality Test to help students understand themselves and make better decisions while having fun. Another activity, “What I’ve Always Wanted To Ask; From Me To Us,” encouraged socializing, opening up, and making new friends after months of focusing on university work.
Day 2: United by Knowledge: Learning Beyond Boundaries
Day 2, themed “United by Knowledge: Learning Beyond Boundaries,” featured “A Taste of Tech” to introduce business students to coding and its connection to business. Additionally, “Pitch and Profit” aimed to teach computer science students the importance of marketing, financial accounting, and money management in an organization.
Day 3: Relax, Reflect, Remember: A Day To Just Be
Day 3, themed “Let the Games Begin: Culture, Chaos, Connection,” featured engaging activities like Werewolf/Mafia, Trivia Battle, and Language Exchange to create lasting memories. The day also included “A Map of Us” for sharing personal journeys, “Year One, Signed Off: Sealed in Time” for writing letters to future selves, and “The Final Frame” to end with a student-suggested movie.
