With over five years of experience in academia, Ms. Salwa is a dedicated faculty member and researcher specializing in computer science. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at both the University of Stirling and SQA, RAK Campus. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, both with top honors from Osmania University, India.
Ms. Salwa’s research focuses on cybersecurity, particularly network security, cryptography, and the application of machine learning to combat and prevent cyberattacks. Her work is widely recognized, with five published papers in prestigious Scopus Q1 journals. Notably, her paper “Tracing the Ransomware Bloodline: Investigation and Detection of Drifting Virlock Variants,” presented at the 2024 6th International Conference on Computer Communication and the Internet (ICCCI) in Tokyo, won the Best Paper Award. Another significant contribution, “The Age of Ransomware: A Survey on the Evolution, Taxonomy, and Research Directions,” published in IEEE Access, has already garnered over 40 citations within its first year.
In addition to her research accomplishments, Ms. Salwa has earned several certifications, including CompTIA Security+, a Cybersecurity Specialization Certificate from the University of Maryland, and a Machine Learning certificate from Stanford University through Coursera.
